The Five Objectives
of Biblical Stewardship all Students of Stewardship must Master:
(See and download 7 Steps Financial Ladder of Success Card above)
- Always spend less than you Earn - track with a Monthly Budget (Proverbs 27:23)
- Give, for giving breaks the power of Money- you will Reap what you Sow (2 Corith 9:7)
- Get out of Debt, because Debt is Slavery to Another (Romans 13:8)
- Have an Emergency fund, save and work, because life is uncertain and saving
and working is the opposite of debt (Matt 7:25) - Have a Long-Term Plan and set Goals, be wise, not foolish with what God has entrusted to you. Be a Faithful Steward! (Proverbs 21:5)
"It is required in Stewards to be found faithful." (2 Corinthians 4:2) Are You?
As most people have formed unhealthy financial habits over a period of many years, a multi-disciplinary and tested approach is vital to achieve success in our short program, and, we've seen it completed successfully - with Gods help!
And John said to them: "Produce fruit in keeping with repentance."
(Luke 3:8)
Note all three exhortations given by John deal directly with Money and Possessions!
Fruit of the Repentant
(from Luke 3:8-14)
“What should we do then?”
the crowd asked.
John answered, “Anyone
who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”
Even tax collectors
came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked, “what should we do?”
“Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them.
Then some soldiers
asked him, “And what should we do?” He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay.”
Note all three exhortations
are given as instructions for the truly repentant, and all directly relate to the material and financial!
Again - "Produce Fruit!" (Luke 3:8-14)
"Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you." Jesus Christ - Luke 6:38
The Law of Sowing and Reaping
"Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.." & "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows." Galatians 6:7
So important is this law that Paul likens the rejection of it to; "mocking God." How should we view this verse relating to our generosity? And what does Jesus himself saying about this topic? He's exceedingly positive!
And don't forget Law #2, that giving breaks the power of money and most importantly; it switches our dependence away from money, to God!
